When I started planning the All Star Bowl, my goal was to raise awareness for the #1 cancer in the United States - skin cancer. That being said, a major activity offered at the event is free skin exams performed by a local dermatologist. Dr. Ravitskiy and her staff from the Ohio Skin Cancer Institute (OSCI) volunteered their time at this years All Star Bowl. OSCI is also known for offering free skin exams to firefighters, police, military personnel, and spouses year round. During the All Star Bowl, OSCI performed 26 skin exams, with several individuals in need of a follow-up appointment, myself included. What a privilege it is to offer this activity and potentially save lives.
